You can only take a picture like this twice a year in New York City. Why, you might ask? Manhattan is like a modern day Stonehenge, in that it has some interesting astronomical properties. Due to the city’s 29º rotation off of North, the setting sun only lines up with the middle of a crosstown street twice a year, on May 28th and July 13th. So if you’re in Manhattan next Friday, take a moment to enjoy the rare sight.
