Palm Foleo is Dead on Arrival
Sep 4th, 2007 by Rob

I recently wrote about an exciting new breed of super cheap, ultra-portable notebooks that are slowly making there way to the market. I profiled the Asus Eee PC 701 and the Palm Foleo, with the Asus taking the lead both in terms of price and features.
Well, it seems Palm has finally decided to examine their competition, and they don’t like what they see. Despite the Foleo’s impending “end of summer” launch date, Palm CEO Ed Colligan has signed the device’s death warrant on the company’s offical blog. Palm has decided to “…focus all of our energies on delivering our next generation platform and the first smartphones that will bring this platform to market.” Not a moment too soon, either.

But does that go for the Centro, too?
I like this post from engadget, as well as the response from Palm.
And here’s the Post’s take.
No word on the Centro. But it should survive, as it will give Palm an entry into the low-end smartphone market., which is already pretty popular.
